Preston’s journey into music started with his deep connection to both creativity and community. Growing up in Fort Worth, Texas, with family roots in Louisiana, Preston’s music career has been anything but traditional. Though he initially pursued a music composition degree at the University of North Texas, he quickly discovered that theoretical music and strict rules around classical education didn’t align with his free-spirited approach to creating and performing. A shift to a business marketing degree allowed him to blend his creative background with practical skills, and his new perspective on the music industry began to take shape.

While Preston honed his skills as a vocalist and songwriter, his journey into professional music didn’t follow a clear path. He spent time working on his craft while also getting involved with local worship communities, playing piano and vocals for Christian contemporary music. This diverse background led him to embrace both the performance side and the business side of music, seeing the potential for a future that combined both passion and purpose.

Preston’s connection with Weathered Pages began in a surprising way—through a college project where he was tasked with creating a marketing analysis for the organization. After meeting Jeff and learning about the mission of Weathered Pages, Preston knew he had found a place that aligned with his own vision of the music industry: a space that empowers artists, fosters collaboration, and puts the focus back on the music. After a year of working with Jeff, Preston was officially invited to join the Weathered Pages team, where he’s been able to bring his marketing expertise and business acumen to the table.

Looking ahead, Preston is focused on expanding his involvement with Weathered Pages, leveraging his marketing skills to create exposure and help the organization grow. He’s passionate about networking, building relationships with artists, and finding innovative ways to get the music out into the world. Whether it’s through live events, podcasts, or collaborative projects, Preston is ready to take his music and his involvement with Weathered Pages to the next level, helping artists take ownership of their futures while making an impact on the music industry.
