Singer-Songwriter, Creative Visionary, and Artistic Mentor
Arnold AlANIZ
Arnold’s musical journey began with a twist of fate at the age of 12. Instead of the four-wheeler he was expecting for his birthday, Arnold received a starter electric guitar. A little disappointed at first, he quickly found himself mesmerized by the instrument, spending hours in front of his computer, teaching himself songs from websites offering free music resources. Though he didn’t have money for lessons, his newfound passion for music drove him to pursue it with fierce determination.
His early days were full of growing pains—talent show performances that didn’t go quite as planned, failed attempts at fitting into a jazz band, and learning the hard way that music doesn’t always go the way you envision. But through it all, Arnold's love for performing never faded. In high school, he found his way into choir and theater, but it was in college at Shriner University, surrounded by literature and French poetry, where Arnold’s creative soul truly flourished. Although he studied literature, the call of music was undeniable. He started playing at coffee shops and bars, developing his voice and gaining confidence as a singer-songwriter.
But it wasn’t until Arnold attended a Blue October writing workshop through the Music Masterclass Collective that his musical path took a sharp turn. There, he met Jeff, who would challenge his approach to music. Arnold learned that songwriting wasn’t about forcing his vision onto the listener—it was about creating something that resonated on its own. This shift in perspective sparked a new chapter in Arnold’s musical journey, one where collaboration and creative freedom took center stage.
In 2024, Arnold joined Weathered Pages, excited by the opportunity to immerse himself in an environment that valued both artistic expression and collaboration. His time in the studio, working alongside talented artists like Eric Holtz, has been nothing short of inspiring. Arnold is driven by the joy of helping other artists bring their visions to life, particularly those who might not have the ability to play an instrument but still have powerful ideas to share. His passion for mentorship has led him to explore ways to support fellow musicians, offering guidance and input from a place of deep creative understanding.
As he continues to grow with Weathered Pages, Arnold is committed to building a community of like-minded artists who can learn from each other, push creative boundaries, and make art that matters. His journey may have started with a simple guitar from Target, but it has evolved into something far more significant—one of mentorship, collaboration, and the relentless pursuit of artistic expression.
